Active POE switches of the "SW" series are network switches with the ability to power end devices such as industrial cameras, switches and other devices operating in the 802.3af/at standard. Passive switch models of the "SW" series do not operate in POE standards and caution should be exercised when connecting them due to the constant voltage on the blue and brown wires (4/5+ and 7/8-).

The switches do not require additional configuration and operate on the plug and play principle. This saves time spent on installing devices and allows signal transmission along with power via UTP/FTP CAT5+ cable.

PoE technology used in Ethernet networks enables the transmission of electrical power and data to the appropriate device using a standard twisted-pair cable (10 BASE-T: Cat. 3, 4, 5 UTP and 100 BASE-TX: Cat. 5 or higher).
